Privacy Policy

How RESMA collects, uses and protects your personal information. Effective 16 June 2026.

RESMA — Real Estate Studies & Management Academy ("RESMA", "we", "us", "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy describes what we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over it.

Note for the academy: This is a starter policy intended to be reviewed and finalised by qualified legal counsel before publication. It is written to support advertising readiness (Google Ads, Meta Ads) but specific clauses should be confirmed for your jurisdiction and operations. Tracked in CONTENT-TODO.md.

2.3 Information from third parties

If you interact with our content on social platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook), those platforms may share limited information with us — such as your public profile, page views, or ad-engagement events — in accordance with their own privacy policies and your platform settings.

3. How we use your information

  • Respond to your inquiries about programs, admissions and events.

  • Send you program updates, newsletters and event invitations (you can unsubscribe at any time).
  • Improve our website, content and services.
  • Run advertising and remarketing campaigns on third-party platforms.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.
  • Prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process your personal information based on one or more of the following lawful bases:

  • Consent — for marketing communications, optional cookies, and advertising.
  • Performance of a contract — to provide programs and services you have enrolled in.
  • Legitimate interest — to operate, secure and improve our services.
  • Legal obligation — to comply with applicable laws and regulations, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India) and, where relevant, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

5. Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small text file placed on your device. We use the following categories of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies. Required for the website to function — for example, session and security cookies. Cannot be switched off.
  • Analytics cookies. Help us understand how visitors use the site (pages visited, navigation paths, errors). We may use providers like Google Analytics. Data is aggregated and not used to identify individuals.
  • Advertising and remarketing cookies. Used by us and by advertising partners (such as Google Ads, Meta/Facebook Ads, LinkedIn Insight Tag) to show you relevant ads on other websites and platforms based on your visit. These also help us measure ad performance.
  • Functionality cookies. Remember your preferences (such as language or accessibility settings).

You can manage cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of personalised advertising via the controls offered by each advertising platform (e.g. Google Ad Settings, Meta Ad Preferences). When we implement a cookie consent banner, your choices there will be honoured for the cookies they control.

6. Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Service providers who help us operate the academy — for example, email delivery, payment processing, hosting, analytics, advertising platforms, CRM tools, customer support tools. Each is bound by contractual confidentiality and data-protection terms.
  • Advertising partners. Limited identifiers (such as hashed email or website-event signals) may be shared with platforms like Google and Meta to enable campaigns, conversions and remarketing.
  • Industry partners and employers — only with your consent (for example, when you opt in to placement support or specific events).
  • Legal compliance. When required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, property or safety, or that of our users.
  • Corporate transactions. In the event of a merger, acquisition or restructuring, where applicable safeguards continue to apply.

7. Third-party services we use

We currently rely on or may rely on the following categories of third-party services. Each link points to the provider's own privacy policy:

8. Data retention

We keep your personal information only as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this policy, and as required by applicable law (for example, tax and accounting obligations). Indicative retention periods:

  • Inquiry data — up to 24 months from last interaction.
  • Enrolment records — retained for the duration of your relationship with RESMA plus a statutory period thereafter.
  • Newsletter subscriber data — until you unsubscribe.
  • Website analytics — typically aggregated; raw event data retained per provider defaults (often 14 months).

9. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and (where relevant) GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.
  • Request deletion of your information (subject to legal and contractual retention requirements).
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications — every email and newsletter we send includes an unsubscribe link.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing.
  • Request portability of information you have provided to us.
  • Lodge a complaint with the relevant Data Protection Authority.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 14. We respond to verified requests within the timeline required by applicable law.

10. Children's privacy

Our programs are intended for adult professionals and students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18 without the consent of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

11. International data transfers

Some of our service providers (for example, hosting, analytics, advertising platforms) may process data outside India. Where we transfer personal information outside your country of residence, we rely on appropriate safeguards required by applicable law, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards to protect personal information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or destruction. No method of transmission or storage over the internet is fully secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Effective" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we will provide additional notice — for example, by email or a prominent notice on this site.
